You are about to witness my journey to earning money from internet alone. With the help of SEO, plus a couple of popular bloggers where I get my learning resources from, and extra ideas as well.

December 15, 2008 was the moment in time when i started the idea of blogging once again. Birdie@Gunbound(2005) was the initial title of this blog. And the theme is so childish. Of course you guys already know that I was once a GunBound addict (if you read my profile already). The TV5 Bloggers’ Event was the igniting moment. Seeing bloggers, like plenty of them, made me inspired and motivated to blogging once again.

And then out of nowhere I heard this precious word from Dadi Fitz (Oh okay Fitz Villafuerte na lang haha!)… SEO. If you don’t know exactly what SEO means, SEO is Search Engine Optimization.

Let’s lighten up for now. If someone’s gonna tell you “SEO kailangan mo para kumita ng pera sa blogging!” (You need SEO to earn money from blogging!), you probably might end up responding using the same exact phrase… ANONG SEO!? (What SEO?). Well, actually I said the same thing. Like wth right?

Make Money Online SEO Image

If you’re a google-addict for some reasons, or simply just an internet enthusiast, you end up probably doing this; Search the keyword “SEO”, or rather, “search engine optimization“. Then after that moment, you realized that SEO plays a big factor with your main goal, making money.

Don’t wanna fall through that hard way? Let’s talk about SEO the cealagar way, the basics. Oh yes. This is a talk for SEO “kinders”, blog money making “nursery”. All from scratch. Again, everything that I’ll tackle is just based on my actual steps. I might end up not being successful, or better if I do, so you can take the succeeding steps. (Are you planning to ask me, will there be blood? Well, I’ll see in my future journey.)

Things I did the first week of SEO to make money:

1. Choose that free blog host. The two most popular push button publishers (blog sites) in my opinion are Blogger and WordPress. Either way, both has advantage and disadvantage. Someone has comparison chart so try to search for it. (Oh I skipped this ok? ‘Coz I already had the site eversince.) You might wonder why I used that magic word, “free”. Hey, you would not want to pay for a domain and waste it’s value for months ‘coz it’s empty, un-SEO’d and therefore, not letting you earn even a single quarter. Right?

2. Set up your blog. I already have a blogger account eversince. Way back 2004 (not pretty sure about it), Blogger is not yet being handled by Google. I was already a blogger and Google doesn’t play any role with it. So what should you do? Sign up and set-up that key item. By the way, in my end, Blogger won my heart.

3. Brainstorm your key topic. I know, it’s not really easy. Most of the bloggers end up not being specific with a certain subject. Like I do, my site is all about my life experiences, singing career, and personal opinions about plenty of aspects. But take note of this: The more concrete your topic is, the more probability you bind birds of the same feather. Got it? I’ll discuss more of them soon.

4. Start posting high quality content. If you’ll post something about what happened to you, uhm… say nasugatan ka at walang band-aid (you got yourself wounded and there’s no band-aid). Do you think the topic is enough to keep that visitors coming over? Are they gonna benefit from your story? Is it essential for them to stay reading your “accident”blog? Ask yourself, and you’ll get my point. (Mataray ba pagkakadeliver ko? =P)

5. Keep posting. You will need a pageful of posts so you can use them soon for SEO. Yes, you might think I’m talking no SEO here. But it’s not gonna bring you anywhere if you will not take this to consideration (Of course!?). Just blog what you feel that is really topic-relative and beneficial to end-users who will read it. Say 30-50 posts? I agree, patience is a virtue.

You are now prepared enough. Ready yourself for the SEO Basics. Congratulations! You have successfully finished the first part of the journey! Now let’s talk about our next topic: SEO Journey | OnPage Optimization.
